In Loving Memory of Mike Sapp
On May 22, 2018, the Brunswick County Intercultural Festival lost a great friend and leader, Mr. Mike Sapp. This year's festival is dedicated to him. Mike spent over two decades managing the Odell Williamson Auditorium at Brunswick Community College, and was the heart of the Brunswick County Intercultural Festival. He will be missed beyond words. Chairperson, Mari-Lou Wong Chong shares these words with all of us:
"He will always be remembered by his BCIF family and he will always have a very special place in my heart. It is because of him that for 13 years the Intercultural festival has run very smoothly and with great success. The little things he did for us and for me was very special as it had that unique Mike Sapp touch.
I have known Mike for over 13 years. We were together as members of the Shallotte Rotary Club. We would go on field trips with his kids of which he was most proud of.
My dear, dear beloved friend so long. Let us celebrate his life. Let us keep his legacy alive.Let us renew our commitment and dedication for the betterment of our community.
Mike you will be greatly missed, but you are now in a better place. Do take care and look after us as you have always done. You were a terrific guy whose big shoes no one can fill."
